Samara, Costa Rica

Monday, June 24 – Wednesday, June 26

Just about 90 minutes down the coast from Tamarindo is the smaller, yet no-less delicious town of Samara.  For being such a tiny surfer destination, this place had an incredible selection of restaurants serving fresh, healthy foods.

Our Airbnb here was a delightful quad of rentals, of which only two were occupied.  The natural pool in the middle was gorgeous and a great retreat from the intense Costa Rican sun.

A surprise find in Samara was the Salumi & Formaggi shop!  These friendly Italians have an incredible deli and wine selection.  We did a meat & cheese charcuterie board for Shaina’s birthday from here, bought great wine here each night, and had sandwiches made for our drive back to San Jose when we left.

We drove only about 10 minutes south to Playa Carrillo for a nice walk.
