A good first impression for a new city always starts with where you’re staying! The second I stepped out on my balcony of my Lisbon Airbnb, it took my breath away!

Look to the left and you see the Christ the King Statue and Ponte 25 de Abril bridge

After a rain shower, I was treated to a welcoming rainbow!
Lisbon has a really hilly terrain. Coincidentally, it also is known for its Seven Hills, just like San Francisco! I found it much more difficult to walk than SF, but maybe because I know it so well, I always walk with hill strategy. In Lisbon I didn’t know what I was doing and found myself going up and down over and over. In any given day, my Health App told me I had climbed 40-65 flights of stairs! I was exhausted each evening!
Not a lot of method to my madness here. A lot of the time I didn’t even know where I was so enjoy lots of beautiful buildings and views!

Incredible painted ceiling in a very unassuming church

Ruins of the chapel destroyed by the 9.0 mega earthquake that hit Lisbon in 1755

Arco da Rua Augusta in the Praça do Comércio

This building is about 1,100 years old, no kidding! (or so the tour guide said!)

Famous 28 tram that people wait a ridiculous amount of time to ride- no thanks

Beautiful city views from Castelo de São Jorge

Farewell Lisbon, I loved my week exploring your city!
